4/23/17 Event: Ellis Island Tour

Ellis Island, also known as the ‘Island of Hope and Tears’, was the largest gateway for millions of immigrants looking for a new beginning and a new life for their families in America. The Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration tells the moving tales of the 12 million immigrants who entered America through the golden door of Ellis Island. Today, the descendants of those immigrants account for almost half of the American people.

  • What: Ellis Island tour
  • When: Sunday, April 23rd
  • Where: Battery Park
  • How: Ferry from Battery Park
  • Security Deposit: $15 
    • Write your full name, email address, EMPL ID and “Ellis Island”, and place $15 cash into an envelope. You can submit the envelope into the Official Hunter Geo Club mailbox in the Geography Department Office (1006 HN, you can ask the secretary where the mailbox is) Unused deposit will be returned to you during the trip, it is mostly to hold your spot.
  • To those who have submitted a deposit, you will be assigned a seat on a first come first serve basis according to the submission of your deposit. Further updates will be announced in an email.
